I watched Meet Me in St. Louis (1944) for the first time yesterday. (Oh, how I adore me some Judy Garland.) I’ve never seen the musical. I’m still trying to figure out how I already knew most of the songs.
I’ve been to St. Louis once. I was sent there by the Roman Catholic Diocese of Phoenix to collect an award from the Catholic Communication Campaign (CCC). I had been the sole producer of our weekly televised mass, and we won the Proclaim Award for Best Broadcast. At the time of the award ceremony, I was no longer working for the diocese, but we won for the season I produced, so the diocese asked me to go get the prize. Very, very cool.
